Get Updates

Volunteer Connection is a great a great tool for sharing information, while offering convenience and saving time. One of the ways this is accomplished is by using the Nightly Updates feature. This feature will send a notice to the volunteer's e-mail at the end of the day, informing them of all the posts that have been made that day. Note that this will not occur every day. It will only take place when a post has been made. Examples may include:
  • When events are added to that group's calendar
  • When pictures or files are added in the group
  • When news is posted in the news feed. For instance:
    • A call for volunteers when assistance is needed
    • Red Cross offers
    • Training information
  • When new posts are made in a group discussion
This feature needs to be activated to work. It is also important to note that this feature is found in each group, allowing volunteers to receive updates from whichever group(s) they desire.

To Subscribe to Nightly Updates:

1. Log into Volunteer Connection here: https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org

2. You should arrive on your Home page. Left click on the My Groups tab.

3. A drop down list appears that lists the group(s) you are a member of. Left click on the group you wish to receive nightly updates from.

4. Always check the group name to ensure you are in the desired group, and then left click on the blue text that reads Click Here to Subscribe to Nightly Updates.

Notice that there are two ways to subscribe. Only one needs to be left clicked on to activate. If successful, the blue text will now read Click Here to Unsubscribe to Nightly Updates.

If you decide you do not want to receive the nightly updates you can reverse the action. To unsubscribe left click on blue text that reads Click Here to Unsubscribe to Nightly Updates.

Again, this feature will update you when changes occur in a certain group. There is times that your local office, or higher Red Cross entity, may send out a mass e-mail everyone. If the e-mail is from nightly updates it will state so.
